First call up for academy Player of the Year

Wolves defender Scott Malone got his first time call-up for England to the U19 team a couple of weeks ago. The 18-year-old is part of the 18-man squad which meet for the first time under new coach Noel Blake.

“Every young player always wants to try and play for their country. If I get on it will be a proud moment, said the young boy – sorry man – to Paddytheflea.

Scott was part of Wolves cooperation with the Hungarian team Uijpest (Budapest) and went out to play with them in spring with very good results on the pitch as well as socially.

“Going out to Hungary was a really good experience – I went out a boy and came back a man.”

The U19 England team is on training since Saturday and plays Russia in Shrewsbury’s ProStar Stadium on Tuesday 7pm.
