Scott Malone: Hopefully family and friends will watch

Scott Malone is perhaps the player in the Wolves squad who has evolved the most this season.

The 18-year-old defender has been very busy parting his time between International games, Cup games and Reserve team games. He played in Wexford as well and assisted to the goal. And it seems as the young but experienced ace is growing by the game now.

Internationally he received his first call-up for England U-19 to the Russia game in early September, but has been an ever-present in the team since then and is now looking forward to hopefully picking up a fifth cap at Glanford Park. He says to the FA:

It’s been good to be involved this season. My first cap was against Russia and it was great to get a win in that match, as well as my first cap, so then to go and get the call again for the qualifiers in Slovenia was great. I played in all three games out there, which I don’t think many of us did, so it’s been good to keep involved.

Scott and the England youngsters are meeting Turkey tonight.

There are a few lads at Wolves who play for other countries and they’ve all told me that Turkey will be a good team. I’m expecting a tough test, but it will be good to play at home again for us and hopefully there’ll be a few family and friends along to watch.

The match is at Glanford Park, Scunthorpe tonight at 19.00 (BST) and if you call tickets to watch the match are FREE. Call 0871 221 1889 now to make sure you’re there.

And look on FA:s website for more information. Their link to the article was on Scunthorpes linksite only.

P.S. From the Scunthorpe official site: The Iron Bar will be open on before, during and after the game on Tuesday night.D.S.
