Latest on the injury-situation in Wolves

Mick McCarthy talked to the press today about the injury situation in Wolves. There are a couple of players that are on the verge of coming back in training and a couple who are being examined.

Jonah (David Jones) is back out training and he’s delighted with himself, as is Stephen Ward. They both might be back out in football training next week. It will be a real boost to have them back available because they’re both good players and they’ve done really well for me. To get them back fully fit will be a real plus.

About Matt Hill and his rehabilitation

Matt Hill joined the warm-up yesterday morning so he’s getting there and he might be o-k for next week. We’ll see. Matt Hill’s been for a scan on his knee but I haven’t had the results of that yet. I need to speak to the physios and see what’s happening – there’s no long term fear as far as I’m aware, but we haven’t had the results yet.

About how Matt Murray is coming around

Matt Murray has been for a scan after being withdrawn from last week’s reserve match after suffering discomfort in the knee in which he ruptured a patella tendon last year. The scan is currently being assessed as Wolves take advice from the relevant specialists“.

Mick about Chris Iwelumo

I think we said at the time he was going to be four to six weeks and that’s what it will take. But he’s out jogging at the moment.
