Loan Watch: Friend played for two

While trying to report about our players out on loan I forgot the well traveled left sider George Friend. Maybe because he has played for three clubs already the current season.

Now he is at Scunthorpe, anyway, but he didn’t play much in the weekend. He came into the game in the 92nd minute. But The Mirror did get him a 6 in rating so he must have done something good during the couple of minutes he was playing. Or maybe it was a joke? Or maybe the Mirror is a joke at reporting?

Anyway.  Scunthorpe won against Coventry with one goal to nothing and the Coventry manager is not pleased with his players. Our old friends (?) McIndoe and Eastwood are playing in the team and the manager says they are underachieving and threatens them with the transfer window.Well, not just them, but each and every player in the team.

But the Iron manager is of course more pleased, even if they didn’t play particulary well either. Both teams are fighting close to the relegation zone in the Championships and it was maybe expected that the Iron should be there abouts, but to Coventry it’s a not so pleasant surprise.

I hope that George Friend will get more playing time in the next match, though. Iron play Barnsley away on Wednesday.
