Iwelumo: I’m looking forward to getting back out there

Chris Iwelumo is in a good mood today as he is back from injury and could take a place on the bench at White Hart Lane. He has talked to the official site about his injury time and Wolves.

It’s six weeks today since the Stoke match. This has been the worst period I’ve had in total without football so it’s just been good to get back out training with the boys on Thursday. I’d been feeling good for the last couple of weeks but it was a case of waiting to have another scan and check all was o-k. A few specialists have been looking at the scans and X-ray results and were confident I could be back involved and now I’ve travelled with the team which is great.

“I’m in a happy place at the moment”

Hopefully I can play some part and be a positive for the team although I thought they were very impressive last week. It’s just a case of building from that. I can’t look behind me now. What’s happened has been and gone and the last six weeks have probably been harder than the period before. That’s because I knew I was in good shape and feeling good but had to do it all again.”

“I’m in a happy place at the moment and have livened up over the last few days. Hopefully I can come back and make an impact for the team. If I can get involved in some capacity over the next few weeks it will be up to me to show what I can do when the service comes in. I’m excited and looking forward to getting back out there when I can.

About Andy Keogh and all the injuries in the squad

Everyone is thinking about Andy, that’s a definite. We’ve had a few important players getting some bad luck this season. Keogh is a great lad and a great player who will be sorely missed by everyone. He brings something extra to the dressing room as well as his football. He’s a positive guy though and knows that as soon as he gets the operation done he’ll have something to aim for and be able to get himself right.”

“We’ve not had the luck with the injuries so far. I’ve been out for a while as have Wardy and Kights and Sylvan and Foles at the start of the season. A lot of players who played a massive part last year and there’s not really been the chance for everyone to play together and show what we’re about. Hopefully there will be some point in the season where everyone gets a good crack at it and we can show what we can do together as a team.
