Vokes back from Leeds to play for Wolves in the FA Cup

Forgotten defender Darren Ward – out on-loan to Millwall – has signed a permanent deal with the London club. It was in the cards already in September when he went there that he would sign for them permanent He is a Londoner and back with his old club. Good luck, Darren!

Young striker Sam Vokes is back at Wolves, as I told you he would be a couple of days ago. Nothing from the official site about this yet. But it is very probable that Vokes will play against Tranmere in the FA Cup for Wolves. It will really be a watershed moment for him, as he didn’t become a success at Leeds – to say the least.

Maybe Sunday is the last chance in a long time for Sam to become a regular player for Wolves. Can he score or contribute to Wolves scoring against Tranmere on Sunday we could count on seeing him in the Old Gold shirt more often in the future. If not, he will be out on-loan again very soon – maybe to Doncaster this time – or he could even be sold.

One Response to “Vokes back from Leeds to play for Wolves in the FA Cup”

  1. (From a Leeds fan): Not sure what went wrong with Vokes. He started his loan with us with all guns blazing and really looked the business. After 3 or 4 outings, though, he reverted to a very ordinary player and I was not alone in being hugely relieved when Becchio came back from injury to replace him. I think it’s a shame because the lad seems to have the skill and power – just something I can’t put my finger on is lacking there.
