Doyle missed out on Tranmere match because of illness

Mick McCarthy revealed after the game yesterday – according to the Official site – that Kevin Doyle, like Maierhofer, was missing out on the game against Tranmere because of illness.

Nothing is said about the nature of the illness nor how long he will be unable to play. Let’s hope he will be O.K. against West Ham on Saturday. He is badly needed. No other striker – maybe with the injured Keogh as an exception – has shown Premier League class in Wolves in my opinion.

I can see a striker crisis around the corner. It will be interesting to see if Wolves will be looking for a striker in the Window. I think that it would be a good idea under present circumstances. We cannot rely on Doyle alone for the rest of the season and he can’t produce enough goals for us to stay up.

With Berra Wolves didn’t want to risk anything.  Despite the blow to his head against City was classified as a mild concussion, they took the decision to rest him yesterday.
