Another French Winger on Wolves radar

There’s another French winger on Wolves radar according to a rumour in the Mirror today. His name is Richard Soumah and he is currently playing for Guingamp in the french second division.

He was on his way to Paris Saint-Germain this summer to replace Jerome Rothen who went to Glasgow Rangers. But that deal went off. But it is clear that the 23-year-old winger is thought upon as a talented young footballer among many clubs in continental Europe. Olympique Lyonnaise are said to have been interested in him last summer as well.

Richard Soumah is born in a suburb to Paris but he is of Guinean origins. He has made 83 appearances for Guingamp and scored 11 goals. He is left footed and looks powerful on video (watch below). He was said to cost 3 million Euros this summer.  He can play on either wing. Go for it, Wolves!

  1. He is half decent player. He is very inconsistent though.

I would also warn you that he is very prone to mood swings and can have a negative attitude when things are not going well.

This season he has struggled to make any impact at all, as his stats will show:

I run the EAG UK Fansite!

    • Thank you for that information, David!
Do you think he can cope with the tempo in the PL?

      • I don’t think he could hack it.

A player of a similar standard to him joined Charlton a few seasons back ‘Thierry Racon’ and he is only good enough for high L1 low Championship.

  2. Looks like quality to me :=)

  3. I would sooner land Hunt!

We need Prem experience now. Although 28 years old his experience both playing in the Prem and in addition with Doyle make him especially worth securing.
