Will the Hunt come to an end?

Hull City today issued a club statement about their player Stephen Hunt:

Regarding Stephen Hunt, the Club is now becoming bored of continual speculation within the local media surrounding his future and would like to place on the record that the player is not for sale. The Club will not be commenting any further on speculation in relation to this player. He is not for sale.

I have waited for a statement like this for a while. I wonder what took them so long?! Maybe the leadership of Hull – which have a difficult financial situation – have made some financial progress and are now certain that they don’t have to sell Hunt.

Or maybe it is a smokescreen and they do plan to sell Hunt at the right price, but they don’t want the media to be too involved.

Daily Mail wrote last night that Hull are planning to sign Kris Commons from Derby to replace Hunt when he leaves for Wolves. Maybe that article is the one that annoys the Hull leadership.

So will the hunt for Hunt come to an end now then? Probably not from the media, but maybe from Wolves. If it is not a smokescreen…
