Loan Watch: Ikeme and Hill’s QPR lost to Iron and Batth’s U’s lost to Leeds

Wolves have two players out on-loan to Queens Park Rangers right now. Defender Matt Hill and goalkeeper Carl Ikeme are earning their living in London nowadays and today they played on Loftus Road against Scunthorphe.

Carl Ikeme prolonged his visit to QPR the other day. He will stay until the 6th of April at least. But I’m not so sure that it will be a pleasant stay. QPR are in deep crisis after that the owners have sold many of their best players. They have taken in loans instead. Good players like Ikeme and Hill, but the owners – Briatore and Ecclestone, two tychoons from the racing sport – seem to be unaware of that it takes time to build a team in football.

Now the fans are so fed up with it all that they launched a big protest today and many fans were wearing clown outfits to point out that the club in their hearts have been taken over by clowns.

To the match. QPR haven’t managed to win a match for a long time and this was to be no exception. Not much did happen in the first half, the reports say. QPR dominated but they were no good in the last third of the pitch.

After an hour Carl Ikeme saved QPR from a goal in the back when Scunthorpe special goalscorer and the best player on the pitch Gary Hooper launched a shot from up close that Carl blocked.

But ten minutes later there was nothing for Ikeme to do when the same Hooper tied Matt Hill up in knots before laying the ball in to Thompson and giving the winger all the time in the world to pick his spot past the over-exposed Carl Ikeme.

And as it only was about fifteen minutes left of the game many of the QPR not so faithful anymore went home. Nothing much happened in the match but afterwards several hundred of the fans gathered outside after the final whistle to demonstrate against Briatore.

Wolves have been linked to this Gary Hooper guy in the transfer window rumours. He seem to be of the right stuff. Maybe a man for the future in Wolves?! I’m sure Wolves are checking him out, like a lot of other teams. Maybe Ikeme and Hill now have something to tell Mick about the mans strengths.

Danny Batths Colchester met Leeds today in League One and lost with two goals to nothing. Batth was on the bench as usual. Sour grapes! Not good for his future career. He needs matches.

Scott Malone, on the other hand, is playing every match for Southend. Wolves strong young left back played on Saturday at home to Swindon. They went two goals down after just ten minutes, but when only five minutes left of the match Spencer scored Southends first and with one minutes left Malones defender comrade Baldwin scored their second to make it a draw. Sweet grapes!

Crystal Palace – Wolves opposition in the Cup on Tuesday – played against Peterburough to…yesterday and did that very good. They managed to win by two goals to nothing after a brace from Danns. And this was without prized asset Victor Moses, who was barred from playing by the administrators (CP is in administration). Wolves will not get an easy win on Tuesday. That’s for sure!

And that’s all from Loan Watch tonight. Sweet dreams about Wolves winning on Tuesday against Crystal Palace!
