Nathaniel Clyne of Crystal Palace refused to speak to Wolves

The January window is now closed and in the aftermath thereof it stands clear that Wolves did not manage to sign any more players on the last day (maybe in the last minutes, but I doubt it).

One player that Wolves sought to sign was the young defender Nathaniel Cline of Wolves FA Cup opponents Crystal Palace, it’s revealed. They even got the clearance to talk to the lad after probably giving a decent bid to the club under administration.

But the Joint administrator in Crystal Palace – Brendan Guilfoyle – who confirmed they had accepted a bid from Wolves, told Skysports that Clyne was not interested in a move to Molineux. Guilfoyle:

Nathaniel Clyne was given permission to speak to Wolves after they agreed a fee for his services, but he has refused to open talks with them.

Hmm. That will probably fire up the Palace team for tomorrow. If they need more firing up after all the trouble they have seen the last days. Moses is off to Wigan and it was rumoured that Ambrose was on his way to Newcastle, but I don’t know about how that one ended yet.
