Loan Watch: Southend and Scott Malone close to win against league leaders Norwich

Due to the weather many of our out on-loan players did not play tonight.

Danny Batths Colchester United postponed their game against Brentford.

Daniel Jones Bristol Rovers did not play against Exeter due to the weather.

Scott Malone played for his Southend against Norwich away. But maybe he now wishes it had been postponed?! The Shrimpers had Norwich at the scruff of their necks, as Mick McCarthy uses to put it. With only thirteen minutes left they had the lead with a goal by Vernon. But then Norwich Oli Johnson scored twice – the second four minutes into injury time – and that was it.

Scott Malone first played as a central defender, but after an injury in the Southend side after about half an hour he shifted to his normal position at left back. The Shrimpers are now on the 20th spot in the tables of League One. Just a goal saves them from being under the relegation line. They are yet to win a game this year.
