International Watch: Ireland vs Brazil

Match number two with Wolves participation was the game between The Republic Of Ireland and Brazil on Emirates Stadium.

Ireland are reported to have played excellent during the first half, but unfortunately that did not pay off in any goals scored. Kevin Doyle had a header from close up in the sixteenth minute that was boxed away with some effort by the Brazilian keeper. Instead Brazil managed to score with just a minute left to tea.

It was an own goal by Keith Andrews, who tried to clear a ball from Robinho. Instead it flew over Given and into the net. It is reported that Robinho was offside. And that Ireland when looking at play were worth more from this half than a goal in the back.

In the second half Brazil took over more of play and defended better. Doyle had a hard time at top and did not get many chances.

After half an hour Brazil scores their second. A wondergoal by Robinho, who combined with Kaka outside the box bypassing three Irish defenders. Robinho made a pass to another Brazilian player who backheeled the ball back to Robinho who scored into the bottom right corner.

The rest of the match looked like a torment for Ireland, but Kevin Doyle did not have to endure that on the pitch. He was substituted after 78 minutes by Leon Best.
