International Watch: Scott Malone in draw

Wolves young left back Scott Malone and his mates in the England U19 team managed to get a draw against Holland away in Waalwijk tonight.

It was a friendly game to prepare for the European U19 Championship Elite Round Qualifiers in May. England started very well and Mellis scored after just seven minutes. But ten minutes before the end of the game Holland equalised through an own goal by Reece Brown. A set piece delivery deflected off the head of Reece Brown and past goalkeeper Liam O’Brien to bring the Dutch back level.

The result was reported by the FA to reflect the match pretty well. Holland had a lot of possession in the second half. The team will now continue to prepare for the clash with Ireland and the host team Bosnia-Herzegovina in the May Qualifiers.
