Player Ratings: Wolves vs Everton

We are soo lucky! But we have to agree that Wolves had a very unlycky spell in the beginning of the season and that has really evened up now. A point is a point is a point!

I’ve got a problem to rate our players here. There are a couple that do stick out, but most of our players were just average today against a very good Everton team. But I will give it a try.

Hahnemann – 8 – You saw it yourselves. He was the main reason for Wolves getting a point. I’ve said it before. The man has been the difference between Wolves getting three points and one – one point and nothing – on a couple of occasions. This was one of them. Marcus is one of the best keepers in the Premier League and we should be very glad to have him, Marcus Hahnemann is of course Wolves and Paddytheflea’s Man Of The Match.

Zubar – 7 – From start he was very active indeed. When everybody else were watching the Everton players perform he was the one to take part in the action and wanting to make a mark. And that continued through out the game. One of the best players of Wolves.

Craddock – 7 – He is our best defender without a doubt. But I get so irritated when he tries to play the ball up the field and misses it completely. His about 50 % chance of hitting a friend is not good enough! One of the best defenders in the Premier League. If he gets better att passing he will be the best.

Berra- 6 – The same goes for him, but Craddock makes the world go around when it comes to stopping the opposition to score. But he is still doing a good job in defence and there are many defenders in this league that are worse than this man.

Elokobi – 6 – Going forward he was not at all the same man as against West Ham. But Everton is not at all the same team. A set back, yes. But he has the potential to make it.

Mancienne – 5 – Close to a four as he did not do his job at defending and helping the back four proper. Or was it Henry who should have done that job? The Everton midfielders could feel free outside the D launching their attacks without Wolves doing anything about it all match. Or as long as he was on the pitch. I had a feeling the defence became better with Guédioura coming on.

Henry – 5 – The same goes for him. Outplayed by the Everton midfielders. The ultimate proof that our inner midfield has very much to learn. The Everton strength is our weakness and there is nowhere to hide that. Against a team like West Ham we look good, but this reveals everything.

Foley – 6 – Could not go forward as frequent as against West Ham but had a few chances. Helped out well in defence, though.

Jones – 7 – Still our in form player and I really like his effort. But the Everton defence was massive and not many chances to get through.

Jarvis – 8 – Were everywhere trying to get through the Everton defence. Our Messi! The second forward, really. More on the right than on the left tonight. He will score again soon!

Doyle – 6 – Looks a bit tired. Maybe he has been played to much and needs a rest. Not close of scoring today.

  1. I haven’t seen the game, even though I recorded it.
    I love Wolverhampton.
Us Wolves fans are the ones that celebrates te most on a goaless draw.
Ahahaha, and Noe we’re in 14th place thanks to Manure beating Bolton!

  2. Paddy, it seems to me you have a downer on Henry! No way was he a 5 yesterday, neither was Manc. Agree with your MOM though, Hahnemann was the reason we managed a point. Thought Zubar was outstanding today. Doyle did look a little jaded, he must be worn out with all the running he does. Now we have a really tough away match to the Arsenal. That should be interesting. I expect a few changes….

    🙂

  3. Maybe we should rest doyle for arsenal, he did look tired.

    • Yes, I agree. Probably bring in SEB and put Doyle on the bench so he can put his feet up for 90 mins !

  4. Agree, time to give Doyle a rest however would expect Keogh to start before SEB, however it would be nice to see if SEB has learnt anything from Doyle’s work rate.

  5. does doyle want to put his feet up for 90 mins tho? have to say he played 2 games in a week like jarvo and others i think thats what have made them tired
