Wolves Academy Under 18’s lost to Newcastle

The Academy under 18’s played against Newcastle at home Saturday. Newcastle under 18’s – unbeaten in twelve games on the road – started the match best and owned the first half of the game.

After a quarter of an hour the Geordies midfielder Brad Inman – who has scored 15 goals for his side – found the net after a cross from Conor Newton. Newcastle had a couple of more chances in that half when striker Phil Airey twice went close – once hitting the post.

But Wolves came out after halftime another team. The Newcastle goalkeeper Jak Alnwick was kept busy after the interval when Wolves had two qualified attacks and pressed for an equaliser. That did not happen, though, and in the last minute of the game Brad Inman could score a second goal against play.

The Wolves under 18’s are still with a chance of a good finish in their group as they only have four points up to the second place with one match less played. The next scheduled match in the league is on the 10th of April against Manchester United away and after that they play Leeds away on the 17th of April.
