Probable Team Lineups: Wolves vs Blackburn Rovers

The match against Blackburn Rovers is in my opinion one of the most important matches Wolves has played in the last three years. By winning Wolves can secure a spot in Premier League next season and continue the development of the team and the club.

I’ts a threshold in a remarkable evolution done with very small means. With a very young, unexperienced team we can reach a goal that was thought to be very hard to reach with a much more experienced team. But I will save the superlatives for later and just point out that a win against Blackburn means that Wolverhampton Wanderers will earn a stay in the best league in the world.

The midfield of Wolves will have to do without our captain Karl Henry for another game. The inner midfield is not as stable as with Karl and Edwards did not convince me that he was the right man for the job against Fulham. I would prefer Adlène Guédioura to replace Henry, but I believe that Mick McCarthy will continue to play Edwards from start.

Jarvis was injured – he strained his thigh – against Fulham latest, but I believe that he has recovered and will play from start. In other words I think that Wolves will start with the same team as against Fulham. That means that only four players are left that played from start against Blackburn in September.

To the Blackburn fans I can reveal that Wolves are a much better team now and that we – like you under the Wolves fan Big Sam – play with only one striker. We are much more stable and you will not be given the ability to catch us on the wrong foot as you did in September. And another warning. Wolves has everything to play for and you nothing. That is usually decisive for the outcome of a game.

The Blackburn team has a couple of injuries and they may let some new players in from start as they already have secured their place for next season. Samba and Emerton are out injured and Diouf is doubtful. And Gamst-Pedersen refuses to sign a new contract and could be left out of the team because of that.

These are the starting elevens I believe will play (below). The result? Wolves will show class and win with 2-0.

  1. u seem very confident i will have u know were finishing the season very strongly wouldnt surprise me if we beat u 3-0 tomorrow

    • We’re fininshing strong as well, floody. And you are not a good team at playing away. 3-0, you make me laugh!

  2. Jarvis is the only doubt as he is recovering from a knock, so we may see Ward on the left, apart from that it is buisness as usual. A tough game which I expect to end in a draw.
