Loan Watch: George Friend scored and much more

I’m late as usual with my report about the players from Wolves out on loan. I’m sorry about that.

The only club in the Championship harbouring a Wolves player is Queens Park Rangers where Matt Hill is still rumoured to reside. but he was nowhere to be seen as the Rangers won with one goal against nothing away against Barnsley in a non inspiring game.

Southend United, with Scott Malone are to be relegated to League Two after a draw, 2-2, against Oldham. Malone was on the bench for the game.

Exeter City with George Friend playing managed to get a draw against – at least before the game – automatic promotion hopefuls Charlton. And guess who scored the Exeter goal? George Friend of Wolverhampton Wanderers of course! With a header.

But another player who has scored for Wolves before – winger Kyel Reid – scored ten minutes before the end for Charlton and spoiled half of the fun for Friend and his friends. Manager Tisdale to BBC:

It was nice to see George [Friend] getting a goal, I’m chuffed we got a goal from him.
“We’re still fighting and it’s going to go to the last game, we all know that, so let’s prepare ourselves for it.

Exeter are yet to meet Hartlepool away and Huddersfield at home and are only two points over the relegation line.

And another former Wolves player – Elliot Bennett – scored the decisive goal for Brighton against Bristol Rovers with still Wolves player Daniel Jones.

And guess who made the foul that Bennett got the penalty that he could score from in the 95th minute? Daniel Jones!  The match ended 2-1 to Brighton and they are now clear and happy to play another year in the league. So are Rovers, but not quite so happy, though.

Colchester only managed to get a draw against relegation threatened Tranmere and Danny Batth did not play nor sit on the bench. Maybe he was the one that took the blame for the defending problems last weekend. The U’s have no chance at  reaching a play-off spot anymore.

I think that’s all covered. Goodnight!
