Will Blackpool sign Ebanks-Blake?

The Daily Mail today writes that “Ian Holloway is mulling over a bid for Sylvan Ebanks-Blake”.

This will without a doubt be the ‘talk of the town’ for today, but the rag does not offer us any proof at all that the rumour has any kind of substance.

But I am very impressed of these anonymous reporters that seem to have the ability to enter into managers minds and find out what they are thinking about. I’m a little flea living in a managers hair, but I have yet not been able to break through McCarthy’s brain-barrier. 😆

Anyway. I don’t believe there is any substance in this because:

  • Wolves would never sell or loan out a player to a rival team in the Premier League
  • The Tangerines can not afford to buy SEB
  • SEB still has a good  chance to play regulary as a striker for Wolves
  • It was McCarthy – not Ian Holloway – who helped Ebanks-Blake to become a Golden Boot striker.

So the supporters of Wolves can rest easy and the Blackpool supporters can stop dreaming. Blackpool will NOT sign Ebanks-Blake.

  1. good. i like SEB i think in the new season he’ll give us a reasonable return of goals.

  2. To be fair to the daily mail (not a sentence I would normally say) they did scoop the fletcher transfer before anyone else, and seb was with holloway at the pilgrims. I would rather see him given another season to come good at this level, but if we can get a good price I reckon fair play, cash in and strengthen elsewhere like centre back.

    • I don’t believe ve have to sell to buy, sleachy. But I agree that we do need to strengthen in the central defence. But it looks like that has to wait until after the World Cup.

  3. We need many alternatives and selling our top scorer doesn’t make any sense. An alternative lineup would be to push Doyle out on the left wing, Jarvis on the right, Henry and Guedioura in the middle of the park, and at last playing Ebanks and Fletcher as strikers.
