Wolves enter Cup against Southend United

Wolves were drawn against League Two team Southend United in the Carling Cup (League Cup) last night.

Southend United were very close to be sat into administration a week ago, but managed to pay some of their debts in the last minute.

In the first round of the Cup they beat Bristol City on extratime. The same cursed and sadly injury-ridden City that took our young striker Vokes on loan for thirteen minutes lately.

It was the Southend young Scot striker Matthew Paterson who scored the decisive goal against Bristol in the 104th minute. A 1.88 cm tall 20-year-old who attended the Southampton Academy.  Wolves defence must look out for that lad when we play them at home on Tyesday the 24th of August.

Hopefully some of our lads in the Development Team will have a go in the Cup. Playing Southend should be exactly the right challenge for them.
