Probable Team Lineups: Wolves vs Stoke

And we are finally there! Opening day of the Premier League season 2010/11. How I have longed for this! But let’s not drag out with smalltalk. Let’s look at the probable teams this afternoon at Molineux.

In Wolves Edwards and Zubar are injured. Doyle is doubtful and will very probable not start today. The starting eleven will be no surprise, because we’ve seen them walk in together before. In the last pre-season game against Athletic Bilbao.

Mick McCarthy seldom make changes from the team he play in the last pre-season game before the season kicks off, and he will not do it today. But Doyler will probably be on the bench, ready to step in. And so will Halford, Milijas and Guédioura and a couple of others.

The Stoke supporters are looking forward to see their latest signing, Kenwyne Jones, in action. But I believe that they will have to wait about an hour for that. Pulis has told the media that Jones is not as match fit as the rest of his crew. They will probably start with Fuller and Sidibe up front.

Stoke also has a couple of injured players. Lawrence is injured and so is Whelan and Faye. But they look awfully strong anyway. What will the result be of this game? Very uncertain, really. Stoke are notorious in making matches come to a draw when they play away.

So It wouldn’t surprise me if that will be the case today aswell. Goals? One each and I really hope that Ebanks-Blake will be our scorer. That would boost his self confidence for the season. Bring the Potters on!

  1. Yeh, that looks about right Paddy. I dont expect Doyle to be risked with his calf injury. Looking forward to another fun season !
