Fletch and Jelle doubtful for the Everton game

The injury that Steven Fletcher got against Stoke looks to be more serious than first estimated.

According to Wolves injury report yesterday Fletcher is not back in training yet and that of course will cast a doubt on if he will be ready to play Everton tomorrow.

And – much to my surprise – our left wingman Jelle Van Damme is injured aswell and has problems with his ankle injury from the Stoke game.

On the positive side is of course that Doyle is back in full training and will be able to play. And Zubar is back in training aswell.

Edwards is still out because of groin problems and Mouyokoulo will still be sidelined because of his hamstring injury.

Sam Vokes will probably be back with Bristol City earlier than expected, but has at least a couple of weeks of rehab to do before he can start full training.

It seems that we have to wait a bit longer to have the opportunity to watch Doyler and Fletch up front together. On the other hand I’m not certain at all that McCarthy would play two up front against Everton away if both were fit and ready.

But it looks like both Fletch and Jelle will be out tomorrow and that will weaken our options on the left wing considerably.Their play against Stoke was first class.

Ward can play well both as a winger and at left back. The best option may be to play Elokobi at left back and Ward at left midfield. Or will Jarvis change back to left wing with Guédioura taking the right midfield spot?

Or will Zubar come back at right back and Foley go back to play at right wing, with Jarvis and Ward playing the left like last season?

At least there are many options this season. Thank McCarthy for that!

  1. Nooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!! Damnit…. what do we have to do to get Doyle and Fletch on the pitch at the same time…

No reason the 451 cant save the day !!

  2. Heard that Fletcher is training this morning, the injury is on his instep, so bit sore but should be fit. (hopefully!)Would like to see him running at the Everton defence.

    • I have a little sneaking feeling that Mccarthy could play fletcher on the left wing if he is fit to play. Could be interesting!
