Matt Murray Retires

Wolves today announces that the Wolves keeper Matt Murray will retire from professional football.

He does not feel that he can get back the strength to play professionally ever again and I guess that there has been some medical investigations telling the same thing.

Matt was a true fans favorite and saved Wolves in many a game. His future looked so bright. It is a shame that he – because of injury – could not reach his true potential. If he had been injury free he would certainly be in the contest of playing for England. Everybody who has seen him play among the Wolves fans recognises that.

After several spells of injury he has though decided to give up his footballing career. I hope that Wolves can offer him another role in the club if he wants that.

Good luck in the future, big man!

  1. A very sad day indeed!

  2. Gutted for the guy and his family. All the best in the future Matt. A true Wolves gent and legend from just a couple of seasons.
Highlight for me:- Play off final against the Blades.
