Loan Watch: Who will play today?

Chris Weale – the first keeper of Leicester – is back in full training. As that was the main reason for Wolves third keeper Carl Ikeme to go out on loan to the struggling Championship club he will probably not start today – or maybe not even be at the bench – since they played their second keeper in front of Ikeme last.

Seem a little strange that we loan out our third ranked keeper to be third ranked keeper at Leicester City. But Wolves doesn’t have to pay his wages so I suppose it’s to our advantage in that way. Leicester play Coventry away today.

Natty Mendez-Laing is back in training after a knee injury and is ready to play with his Posh against Oldham in Peterborough. My guess is that he will come on from the bench.

David Davis – out on loan to Walsall for a month – will make his debut tonight away against Rochdale.

Both Bellamy and Bothroyd could be out injured today when Cardiff play Hull at home. That opens up for Keogh, who could get his first start on loan to the Championship top team.

Stefan ‘The Hoff’ Maierhofer (they’ve started to call him that in Germany and Austria as well now ) will play for his Duisburg against top team 1860 Munich. The Hoff will start for sure and he says to a German paper:

1860 ist ein großer Name und ein großer Verein, aber wir wollen zuhause unser Spiel durchbringen, die Stärken ausspielen und möglichst einen Sieg einfahren

You didn’t catch that? Well, with a Google translation it reads:

1860 is a great name and a great club, but we want to get home our game, play to the strengths and reap a possible victory”

So, we’ve got five players out on loan so far. As usual I will try to follow them all and report to you about their games this weekend as soon as possible.
