Three Wolves players in Republic Of Ireland squad

Three Wolves players are named in the Trapattoni 27 man squad that will play three games – starting with Norway.

The three mentioned are Kevin Foley, Stephen Hunt and Kevin Doyle. Hunt is included for the first time since that horrible defeat against France in the qualifications to the World Cup.

The Wolves on-loan striker to Cardiff, Andy Keogh, is not mentioned in the squad.

Doyle is of course a given in the team. Foley has only three cups for Ireland so far, but I really hope he will get a few more now.

He certainly has shown the quality to play from start for the Republic Of Ireland.

Especially as ‘Trap’ says this to the Irish FA:

This friendly is a good opportunity to bring some players that we have not seen much of into the squad. It is their chance to show me what they can contribute to the team. Friendlies are extremely important for us to continue to build the strongest squad possible for the EURO qualifiers.

  1. I thought Keogh was at Cardiff?

    • Sorry, johnwolf. I’ve changed it now. I blame it on the bloody viruses in my body. ;-(
