Two Wolves players in Barclay’s Official Team Of The Week
For the second time in three games the Barclay’s Premier League picked two Wolves players in their Team Of The Week.
This time the praise and honour went to a midfielder and a striker who were directly involved in the goal against Birmingham City.
Stephen Hunt – tireless grafter all over the pitch aswell as a goal-thief of class – was picked because:
“Popped up with a priceless match-winner in the local derby against Birmingham City.”
A good choice of course – as he really showed pure class in this game – despite the fact that he mentioned in an interview that his right foot is not yet 100% after his injury. What might yet be in store for us?!
The other Wolves player picked by Barclay’s is of course Sylvan Ebanks-Blake. The Officials at Premier League could not fail to recognise the skills and form of our terrific striker and writes:
“Led the line well to help Mick McCarthy’s men to an important win.”
Short, but to the point. They could have mentioned his work rate and his turns, his pace, his crosses and his defending and tackling qualities aswell.
Paddytheflea rated both these players with an eight and also appointed Ebanks-Blake as the Star Man of the game and he got the Man Of The Match award by the sponsors at Molineux.
Both these players have much more to give and we can in my opinion look forward to a second half of the season with more terrific performances from Ebanks-Blake and Hunty. Way to go!
