Recurrence of hamstring injury for Vokes

Sam Vokes – out on-loan Wolves striker to Bristol City – tried to make a come back in a closed door game at Bristol yesterday, but his leg hold up only for 18 minutes before he limped off.

This was to be the final test for Wolves to test if he would be able to play for Bristol after his loan time is out in January. Now he will be back in rehab at Compton for a couple of more months. What a drag.

City manager Keith Millen said to This is Bristol:

It now looks as though Sam will be going back to Wolves in a fortnight or so. It’s desperately disappointing, both for the lad and the football club. We needed him to be able to prove his fitness and, unfortunately, he has not been able to do that.

“It was one of those injuries that turned out to be worse than we first thought and he has still not really got over it. He’s been back with us for a few weeks, but has not been right. You have to feel for Sam. It’s been frustrating for all concerned.”
