McCarthy about U.S. Ace Findley: I think he’s been offered a contract

I published a rumour yesterday about Wolves being interested in MLS team Salt Lake former striker Robbie Findley (HERE).

It happened to be true and the player was actually supposed to be on trial at Wolves, but he was injured.

McCarthy said to the E&S:

We had him here, he came and trained with us, got two or three days, but he’s gone to Nottingham Forest. We brought him over but he was injured when he came here so we gave him treatment and then he went to Nottingham Forest, so we’ll never know. I think he’s been offered a contract, whereas we wanted to have a look at him.

I personally think he could have been a good catch -being out of contract and all – but I can understand that Mccarthy and the management crew wanted to take a look at him in action before signing and then Forest took a chance on him.

It will be interesting to see how he will succeed in the Championship when he is injury free.

  1. I agree Paddy, I think he would have been worth a punt. Two-footed strikers are quite rare these days.

  2. COuldnt care less… this would have been another foray into the unknown and right now we need proven talent.

Also, with Doyle and SEB on form, our problems arent as big up front as they are at the back. Im seriously hoping something can be arranged with Jolean, and perhaps with Samba putting in a tx request we can nab him… we need at least 2 new faces at the back… Only Craddock and Foley have proved themselves up to the challenge.

Lets thump Wigan, Get 2 defenders, and get ourselves moving towards mid table security…

    WE ARE WOLVES !!

    • I agree about most of what you write, Ad Mant (at least in this comment) 😆
But both Arsenal and Tottenham are speculated to be interested in Samba.
I think he is a World Player and that he is out of our league, really.
Not the price tag, but because the big clubs are bound to be interested in him.

  3. Well, it had to happen sometime 🙂
Merry Christmas Flea, and keep up the good work !
