Loan Watch: Goal by Maierhofer in the Cup (Video)

Wolves player on loan to the second Bundesliga team MSV Duisburg played for his Zebras when they met Bundesliga team Cologne with star striker Podolski in the DFB-Cup a couple of days ago.

And he did it very well! Headed in the first goal beautifully after just three minutes and he had a couple of more chances to score later on too.

He is really flying high now, our Austrian tall guy. In an interview for ‘Bild’ the day after he is asked how he celebrated the win:

“After arriving in Duisburg, I was still up to 1 a clock with the Bolero (Restaurant & Bar). Then I went home. By 3 a clock I lay in bed, but I wasn’t asleep before 4 a clock. The game, my goal – everything happened to me again in my head. At 6 clock rang the alarm. At 6:44 I was sitting in the car. “

Well. Let’s hope that the Police didn’t make him blow up that balloon. Or maybe they don’t do that in Germany? 😆

He drove home for the holidays to his dear mother in Vienna, who apparently makes the best Wienerschnitzel and Vanilla roles in the world.

Bild also asked him what he wishes for next year, as he has scored 9 goals in league and cups so far:

“Perfect would be if we will win a place in the Bundesliga and could give our fantastic fans a Cup final and some silverware in May.

I will do everything trying to achieve that. My goal is the Bundesliga – preferably with the MSV “!

No mentioning of Wolves or the Premier League? Didn’t think so.

The Hoff didn’t make it in the Premiership. Some don’t, despite being talented. He will very probably play in the Bundesliga next season – with the Zebras or another team who signs him from Wolves.

A Merry Christmas to Stefan Maierhofer and you all, anyway!
