Loan Watch: Dunleavy leaving on loan and The Hoff attracts swine flu
I reported on Scott Malone a couple of days ago, but there have been some other of our out on loan lads playing aswell, and another Development player has gone out to seek his fortune.
The latter subject is about John Dunleavy who will join The Bees for a month to start with.
The caretaker manager says to Paddy (no, of course not. He says to the Offical Barnet Site):
“We are delighted to have John on board. He is a player that Wolves rate highly and he will be in the squad for the game on Saturday against Shrewsbury Town.”
That’s good. Playing time is what he needs. Hopefully he fits in. I can understand that he wants to g out on-loan as Doherty seem to be before him in development and pecking order at Wolves at the moment.
Hopefully he can gain enough experience at the League Two Team Barnet to take up the competition with Doherty. I will follow his progress here of course.
Andy Keogh played from start for Cardiff against Stoke City in the FA Cup on Saturday. And as all know the managed to get a draw and a replay game. With Bellamy and Bothroyd still out that was a very good result.
The goal came from Chopra who first headed at the post, but then could tuck the rebounce into the net. Soon after that Keogh had a great chance to give Cardiff a two goal lead, but he headed straight at Sorenson in the Potters goal.
But Tuncay scored for Stoke at the end of the first half and it was the Potters who were closer to take the lead in the second half. Maybe Keogh are up for mor games, as Bellamy was arrested on Sunday in the Cardiff City Centre after an assault. Don’t join your team mates to town on after hours, Andy! 😆
Nat Mendez-Laing played the second half when Peterburough was flogged by 6-2 by Fulham in the FA Cup on Saturday. On Monday their manager Gary Johnson was sacked and on Tuesday they played against Brentford in a League One encounter. Nat played only the last quarter of an hour, but was in when Posh managed to kick in the winning goal in the 93rd minute.
Today it is reported by the BBC that the former Posh manager Darren Ferguson has been named manager of Peterborough United on a four-and-a-half-year contract, just 14 months after leaving by mutual consent.
Hopefully Natty Mendez-Laing will get a good chance to show the new manager that he got what it takes to play from start in Peterborough United.
Ashley Hemmings – out on loan to seaside team Torquay – only played for seven minutes when they were victorious against Carlisle in the FA Cup Saturday.
And he was not luckier when it comes to playing time yesterday when they played and did win against Crewe in League Two. But I can understand manager Buckle aswell, as the team is on a run with five consecutive wins at the moment.
Elsewhere? Apparently – or at least according to reports on the web – our export to Germany, out on-loan Wolves player Stefan Maierhofer has catched the swine flu and is still out because of that. When his fellow Duisburg players are enjoying themselves in Turkey on a training camp, The Hoff (or is it The Caugh now?) 😆 is in bed at his mothers in his native Austria.
Hopefully he is well enough to surf on the web, attain to his facebook page and eat his mothers roles and beef, though.
I wish fast recovery for the tall man – probably the tallest swine flu victim in the world. 😆
