Probable Team Lineup: Wolves v Stoke City
With three games in a week it will be interesting to find out how manager Mick McCarthy will find a way to play strong teams in each and every one of them, which I hope he will.
With more and more of our players back in contest I believe that it’s possible. We still have to wait for Michael Mancienne, Kightly and Guédioura, but Sylvan Ebanks-Blake is back in training since yesterday and Kevin Foley will train the next week. The match tomorrow will be too early for Sylvan, but he could come in from the bench against Bolton or United.
Already back are Karl Henry, Jody Craddock, Steven Mouyokolo, Sam Vokes and Dave Edwards. Big George Elokobi makes a little come back after his ban, and my guess is that all of them will figure in the upcoming three games.
The only confirmed starter for the FA Cup game against Stoke City tomorrow is Marcus Hahnemann. I believe that Craddock and Stearman will play in central defence. they did well against Donny and deserves another chance. Elokobi should play in at least one of the three games and why not in the Cup? Zubar has not played well lately, but with Foley still out its him or a development player, so I think he will play.
There are many options for the midfield now, but new signing Hammill is unfortunately cup-tied, so he will be out for this one. Many would say that it’s time to give Mujangi Bia a chance from start, but they forget that Dave Edwards is back and I think he will start. On the other side we have Hunty who is a warrior and they love the cup.
Our best player in the middle of the park today is Ned Milijas, so I hope that he will be on for Bolton and Manchester United. I believe Henry and Jones will have a run. They have done it before many times and knows how to play together.
Two for the top, then. Well, I don’t believe in any surprises there, so it will be Doyler and Fletch, but Vokes is close to a start and he will surely get a chance to come in off the bench if not.
That’s about it. Results? We have the advantage of a home game and Stoke will be more of a second team than ours. We should win, but you never know. Not many goals. 1-0 to Wolves by Hunty!
(I will not try to pick the Stoke lineup in a cup game)
