Wolves and Republic Of Ireland striker Kevin Doyle suffers setback

Just as everything looks better than ever this season, Kevin Doyle suffers a setback with his injury.

It was after the game against Sunderland Saturday – when he played for twenty minutes, apparently with some pain – that he aggravated the knee injury he has been out injured with for several weeks, writes the Irish Times.

Doyle will now go through several weeks of rehabilitation and he will not be able to play for Ireland against Macedonia on the 4th of June and certainly not against Blackburn in Wolves last game of the season come Sunday.

We wish Doyle a speedy recovery and we all have to place our hopes in Steven Fletcher to play the striker role – which he has done so well with five goals in the five last games – for the crucial last game of the season.

  1. If he played on while in pain either he, the physios or both should get a rocket up their backsides – how stupid!

    • Agree, Chris R. I guess that Trap will be furious as manager of Ireland. It will probably not mean that much for Wolves, though, but it doesn’t look professionally handled.
