Keogh ‘Becchioesque’ in his debut for Leeds

Andy Keogh yesterday made his debut for Leeds United at Elland Road against the tigers of Hull.

According to reports and Leeds faithful fans he did very well, despite not getting any goals in a match that the whites did win with four goals against one and is described by the press as an almost perfect game.

He came close, though, on a couple of occasions. His main contribution was that he ran the channels and made space to his team mates, something we all know his very good at.

Some fans said that he was Becchioesque in his play, which is high praise and to the point as he probably is signed to take the Argentinians place while he is out after surgery to a hamstring injury.

In ratings he also gets high numbers, so it seems that our Andy is doing just fine. Hopefully he will get a couple of goals in the upcoming games. Go for it, Andy!

  1. Surely that should be BeKeoghesque!

  2. no real surprise, he was fantastic for us in the Champs, and I still think he makes an ideal squad player for us in the Prem… He cant score, but would be ideal to come on for Doyle/Fletch if we had a lead to protect for the last 10-15mins…

  3. We have too many strikers already who and very useful but can’t score. What I’d give for an out and out goalscorer – it would make such a huge difference to our prospects. Personally I think Peter Crouch would be a great signing for us – especially with the supply from the wings he would get.

  4. Big thanks to you all and to Mick in particular. Andy made a huge difference last night against Hull and worked his socks off helping the team to a good result. He looked to enjoy it too.

  5. Comparisons with Becchio are inaccurate in my opinion. He was more similar to the Alan Smith of old.

I sincerely doubt he’ll score many goals, but he’ll provide enough to merit a place in the team. His work-rate was commendable last night, he chased down every lost cause and didn’t allow the opposition defence time to breathe.

Impressed with his first performance, can’t fault him at all.

  6. i think that when he is comfortable in a team like leeds and the wolves moaners are nt on his back then he will score goals for fun . its all about confidence . i think that this is a great move for all involved . even though he s dropped a division , leeds are still a massive club and i believe he will flourish there . good management all round .

  7. He was superb, big thanks to Mick Mcarthy and goodluck to Wolves for the coming season.
