Wolves did it again! Why? (video)
Like most Wolves supporters I didn’t have the opportunity to watch the League Cup game against Northampton, but I’ve read lots of reports about the victory.
Wolves changed all eleven from the Fulham game and could win with 4-0. These cup games are usually not at all easy to win, ask QPR, Norwich and Swansea, the freshmen of the Premier League. And big spending Sunderland are also out of the cup.
Wolves prevailed easily, though. Why?
The first answer is of course that we this season have quality x 2 at every position, but McCarthy revealed another very important reason in an interview after the game on the official site:
There were just a few shifts because Zubes (Ronald Zubar) got injured but they all knew. They’d been training and playing together because they knew they’d be involved in this game.”
So the team were well prepared to play and had practised together for several days. Brilliant! That is of course the way to go about when playing the cups. A great victory for the team, but also for Mick, TC and the management.
A friend of mine who watched the game gives a special mention to Milijas and Foley in the inner midfield and of course the impressive two times scorer Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (nananananana) 😆
Some stats and facts from the game:
Doherty – Craddock (c) – Elokobi – Reckord
Kightly – Milijaś – Foley (Davis 85) – Hammill (Forde 85)
—-Ebanks-Blake (Griffiths 80) – Vokes ——

I found a clip from the game with the goals, but it’s not the best of qualities (I don, t mean the goals, but the video) 😆
