Zeli Ismail handed start for Wolves Reserves against West Bromwich tonight

Wolves play West Brom tonight in the Reserves and it seems to be a very competitive game with several seniors in each team looking to get inte the first teams of the clubs.

From our neighbours down the road we have Fortuné and Bednar who wants a place with the big guys and also Zuiverloon, Shorey and Meite.

For Wolves Edwards is coming back from injury and Elokobi will also play to gain match fitness after his suspension. Mouyokolo and Craddock will make up the central defence and Sam Vokes will be one of the starting strikers.

Wolves will have Adriano Basso – veteran Brazilian goalkeeper from Bristol City – in goal as Ikeme is recovering from surgery to his shoulder.

He has not played since March but is available for free and this game probably decides if Wolves will sign him for the season as a cover for Ikeme.

The most interesting about the Development Players involved is that Zeli Ismail is handed a start – I believe it is the first time he is starting a Reserves game for Wolves.

The match is at Telford and starts at 7pm

The teams:

WOLVES: Basso, Doherty, Mouyokolo, Craddock, Elokobi, Ismail, Edwards, Rooney, Reckord, Spray, Vokes. SUBS: McCarey, Forde, Harris.

WBA:  Allsop, Zuiverloon, Hurst, Shorey, Downing, Meite, R Reid, Mantom, Bednar, Fortuné, Berahino. Subs: Lewis (gk), Grier, Nabi, Roofe, O’Neil.

Good luck to Zeli and everybody else!

  1. Good to see Zele getting a shot, but does anyone know whats happenned to Foley…?? Why was he dropped against Pool?

We need Craddock back ASAP, and Im hoping one or two of the defensive rumours transpire cos that performance last Saturday was a real kick in the teeth.

  2. Exciting! It’s always interesting to see how great prospects reacts to these kinds of opportunities, because now when he has even better players to play along with, he’s chance of playing out his full potential increases, as well as compare his game to others who has been professional footballers in premiership, to identify his weak spots.

  3. Looking forward to Zeli getting a game…Would liek to see him in senior squad next season!

Ad Mant – Kev Foley is injured (his ankle I think).
