Will Carl Ikeme sign for Sheffield United?

Hi folks! There are far too few rumours going around about Wolves at the moment so I will create one myself. 😆

No. Actually I will by logical reasoning (I’m a Vulcan) propose a probable outcome of events that has happened in the Championship.

Queens Park Rangers has signed the Irish International goalie Paddy Kenny from Sheffield United for a reported fee of £750.000. Kenny – who was caught out using ephedrine and suspended from play for most of last season for Blades – wanted out, and the deal is now done.

Blades manager Blackwell has been promised by the Blades board to use the money coming in from the sale to strengthen the squad. As their second choice between the sticks – Mihkel Aksalu from Estonia – is new to British football, they really need to strengthen with at least one keeper.

And it is of course here Carl Ikeme fits in. He was out on loan to Sheffield United last season and he made a massive impression in the short time he was fit. Actually he became the Player Of The Week in the league after a fantastic game against Plymouth when he made three terrific saves (see HERE).

But he became injured at the end of that match and could not play further for the Blades, shifting to QPR where he made a good impression as well.

That is the reason behind me believing that Carl Ikeme will either be loaned out for the season or sold to Sheffield United. Felt good to start a rumour. 😆

  1. Ahahahah very reasonable Paddy!
Would be good to get some money for another player.

  2. I hope not, Paddy. I like Carl’s positive approach, especially to cutting out crosses. Perhaps Wayne Hennessey will get fed up of waiting in the wings at Mol and get loaned out to a Chumpionship club or sold to a top PL club to be back-up.

  3. As a blade i’d be fairly happy with that, but I’d rather have Simmo (Steve Simonsen) back from Stoke, he shouldn’t cost too much and he knows the club fairly well from his time here
